Emma,

Your specimen has lots of different minerals in it. I can't tell you what they are just from a picture. I can give you some clues to find out more about this rock. Where was it found? There is a wealth of information out there about the rocks and minerals found in any location on earth.

There are gem and mineral clubs in most cities and towns. The members of these clubs love rocks and minerals. They are both knowledgeable and helpful. See if there is a club near you and attend a meeting. Bring your rock. Chances are someone there will be able to tell you what it is.
