Miners Lamp Rock & Gem

Miners Lamp is on the old historic Gold Rock Ranch Trading Post site,100 years old, now a winter RV destination. It is part of a large old mining area in the Cargo Muchacho Mts of Imperial County CA. It carries lots of local minerals and a nice supply of fossils from western Imperial Valley that are much harder to get your hands on today. Their outdoor " Rock Garden" has mutiple display tables piled with various rocks, including pre-sliced pieces ready for cutting and cabbing.The kids love the ice creams they carry too! The ghost town site of TUMCO is right across the entry road in. Took the kids hiking there.

Miners Lamp Rock & Gem is located at 2401 Gold Rock Ranch Rd. Winterhaven CA. Hwy8 to Ogilby Rd. North, across the tracks. Look for Gold Rocks signs. Across from Tumco historic site. Feel free to give us a call at 619-985-1725. We are closed during the summer but open in Nov.
