The proprietors arrange and rearrange their offerings so that each time you visit it is a new experience. On our most recent trip, they had stocked more large specimens of chrysocolla and chrysophase. They had expanded their selection of small and medium specimens with many items reasonably priced for a young collector. We found a few inexpensive fossils that would be perfect for the children, too.
While the main shop is devoted to gifts from Mother Earth, there is a separate room full of American Indian art pieces, blankets, jewelry and other artifacts of fine quality. There’s also a room filled with a broad selection of tourist fare: local treats to eat, t-shirts, hats, souvenirs and travel entertainment for the car.
We recommend this shop for its nice quality specimens and the great prices. While many gift shops include rock specimens for sale, there are surprisingly few shops in this area devoted to such a wide array of beautiful specimens. With so many different types to choose from, even seasoned hunters like us rarely get out of the shop without some new little gem to add to our collection.
